Nan was interested in wine from her college days of Boone’s Farm, when a big upgrade was to Mateus Rose. In the 90’s, she and her husband started attending classes, tastings and wine dinners, and began traveling to wine-specific regions. The two built a wine cellar and started collecting. Nan got involved in running a restaurant (now closed) in Hendersonville, NC, and realized a dream by taking what she had learned to the next level by studying for the Introductory level of the Court of Master Sommeliers. With credentials in hand, she managed the restaurant's wine program for eight years, earning Award recognition each year from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast.
